Updated 14 October 2026. This policy explains how Tempo uses data.

Your chess games

Your games, moves and settings are stored in your browser. They are not sent to Google Analytics. You can delete them through your browser’s site-data settings.

Optional analytics

If you choose Accept, Tempo uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and popular pages. Google receives page and referrer information, device and browser details, approximate location and usage data. We remove query strings and fragments from the page and referrer URLs sent to Analytics. Advertising features are disabled.

Analytics uses _ga and _ga_… cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. These normally expire after two years and may renew during visits. Google may process this data outside your country. User and event data follow the Analytics property’s retention settings; aggregated reports may be kept longer. Read how Google uses data from other sites and Google’s privacy policy.

Your choice

Analytics stays off until you accept. Decline keeps it off. You can change your choice through Analytics settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops further collection and removes accessible Analytics cookies, but does not erase data already collected by Google.

Your choice is saved locally. If your browser blocks storage, it applies only to the current visit. All chess features work without analytics.

Hosting and fonts

Cloudflare hosts and protects Tempo and receives technical request data, including your IP address. Google Fonts receives network information when fonts load. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Google Fonts and privacy.
