Englund Gambit

Pin the queen to the king

The attacking idea

Bring the bishop to b4. The queen cannot leave the diagonal while its king is behind it.

The temptation

Attacking the queen from c3 places White's own queen on a vulnerable diagonal.

If they defend

Use the knight and rook to develop with threats instead of exposing the queen.

Accurate defence can leave the attacker behind in material or development.
